While times are tough, people are watching their dollars and hunting for bargains online. This makes it the perfect time to start a work from home business selling products you create yourself or can buy cheaply for a healthy profit.
If you are artistically inclined, why not try creating a designer brand of your own (as my sister is doing)? You could create designer mugs, birthday cards or T-shirts to sell to people who like something unique and different to mass produced items.
It’s relatively cheap to get items printed with your designs or you can buy equipment so you can work from home printing them yourself. A fantastic way of giving your self designed items that extra special touch of exclusivity is to limit each design to a batch of 100. You should then mark every item with its batch number and create a certificate confirming its uniqueness. Creating a story behind your designs is also a very effective marketing tactic.
If you’re planning on selling people’s unwanted items, then charity shops and yard sales are a great place to look. In particular, look out for designer clothes that are still in good condition which you can sell to label conscious fashionistas.
Other items that can sell well (in my experience) are old board games and video games (particularly if the boxes are in good condition). In fact, I made over $1000 selling old games, clothes and other items when moving house.
You have two main options for your work at home job selling online:
1) Sell on eBay
This gives you access to a massive potential market. The best advice is to always start your auctions low to attract bids in the hopes that a bidding war ensues and pushes prices up. You should also write honest descriptions and deal with complaints politely so you can build a trustworthy reputation and attract plenty of bidders.
The big drawback of eBay is that it’s difficult to charge a premium for products on a website that is seen as a glorified car boot sale. You also have to pay eBay every time you list.
2) Create a website of your own
This might be a better option if you want to sell unique items you’ve created yourself or have a niche market. Creating your own website enables you to brand it and create a selling environment that enables you to charge a higher price. The drawback is that it can take a while to build traffic to your website, through the search engines, social media and forums. But if you’re passionate about the items you’re selling, then starting a blog is an effective and enjoyable way of growing search engine traffic.
Doing work from home selling on auction sites and your own site can earn you a very profitable income. It takes a lot of work though, finding items, listing them, packaging them and dealing with customers. But many people have found it to be an excellent way to work on the net from home.

When people ask me what do I do and after I tell them I work from home they often say how lucky to be living their dream job. Oh yes, I feel lucky. Working from home is a great lifestyle choice. But there are many challenges that I have to face every day, one of which is not getting distracted and losing focus on my work.
Unlike the conventional office job, where you’re confined in your cubicle from 8am – 5pm everyday, when you work from home you are often distracted with home chores, your kids and neighbors. By the time you are done with chores and stuff, you will be surprise that it’s already past 5pm and you have not even finish a single task for your home based business. If you have just started working from home, and are in the same boat, don’t be discouraged. There are many ways to boost your productivity and stay focused on getting your work done when working at home.
9 tips for being more productive working from home
1.Setup your own office at home – You don’t have to occupy an entire room for an office but make an effort to set up a work area. Your workspace should have everything you need within reach to get you through the day. By simply creating area where your work gets done, instead of working on the kitchen table or sofa, it can help you focus.
2.Track your time by hand – Use a 15 minutes increment in writing down everything that you are doing at that moment, from 7am-7pm. So that at the end of the day you will able to identify when you slacked and when you were most productive so you can plan the next day better.
3.Invite someone else to work with you in your home – There are times when you can lose motivation when you are working from home alone. Sometimes, you get tempted to switch on your television or start doing the chores. Having a peer or a partner come over to work with you can help you maintain your focus.
4. Work from somewhere else – When household chores are calling and tempting you to stop working to do the laundry or clean the bathroom, then maybe it is time for you to get out of the house. You can head up to the library, coffee shops or somewhere quiet enough for you to work free from distractions.
5. Dress for Work – Changing from your pajamas and into a smart shirt or blouse will help signal the beginning of your workday. “It is also important to set your mindset that you are in a place of business and that you are a professional.” Says Claude Delgado, founder of D Graphic Solutions.
6. Reduce Web Clutter – Get rid of the unnecessary tabs on your browser other than those that are related to your work. Facebook, Twitter and Instagram should not be open unless you are done with your work for the day. These social media sites will take much of your time faster than you even know.
7. Self-discipline – It is I think the hardest to enforce, but if you trained yourself on the process you will be surprised on the amount of work you get done at the end of the day. So when you are about to get up for a drink or some snacks, just wait a little while more after you finish your task and you can reward yourself afterwards.
8. Answer phone calls and e-mails in batches – I always have a hard time ignoring my phone while working. This is especially true if it’s a family or special someone calling or texting me they just don’t get the concept that I’m working from home and not on hliday. They won’t stop calling until you pick up your phone. So try letting your calls go to your voicemail until you are ready to return them all in one session.
9. Reduce desk clutter – Get rid of all the clutter and the stuff you your desk that can mess with your concentration, like the mail, newspapers or your iPad. Removing these distractions will help you to work for longer and make every day of working from home more productive.
Following these tips will help you to stay focused on your work without the need of a boss to keep an eye on you. Remember that working from home is something many people dream of being able to do and a privilege. Just make sure you use your time wisely and stay productive so you can continue enjoying the work from home dream.
In this post I discuss whether binary options trading is a viable home based business model
Over the last few years, binary options trading has rocketed in popularity as a way of making money working from home. This is because it offers sky-high potential returns, allowing you to make a lot of money fast It’s relatively easy to do – if you get your trades right, of course.
The difference with Forex trading is that you aren’t betting one currency’s value against another. Instead, you simply predict whether a single asset (whether it’s currency or stock) will go up in value in a predetermined period of time. If you think the option will go up in value then you purchase a ‘call’.
If you think the option will go up in value then you purchase a ‘call’. If you think it will go down then you buy a ‘put’. Get it right and you can earn a fixed amount or bank anywhere up to 80% in profit of your initial investment. That’s a lot of cash for a few minutes work from home.
Rich rewards are on offer…if you get trades right
Sounds simple, right? While it sounds simple, and you can make a lot of money fast, you really need to know what you’re doing. Otherwise it’s no different to betting on roulette.
The ‘all or nothing’ nature of binary options trading means it can eat up your money in no time. Trusting a broker to make the decisions for you also isn’t the best strategy. Many of them will make bold claims on how they can double or triple your money but go quiet if you ask for proof.
The complex range of factors that can affect an asset’s value and the difficulty of getting trades right is why a lot of people think binary options trading is a scam.
Learn the ropes first
Too many people jump in without taking time to understand how it works and end up blowing all their money in one or two trades. The high returns on offer can such in a lot of people into the excitement of striking it rich and doubling their salary overnight.
As with any type of asset trading, you need to have a smart strategy where you diversify and spread the risk. Trading on assets you have some knowledge on is also a smart idea, or at least learning more about them before considering it as a home based business.
If you prefer not to take big risks with your money, there are plenty of safer ways to invest, such as long-term bonds. But if you want to give it a go then you need to either start becoming an expert in whichever assets you want to trade on or you can try using software to help make the right decisions for you.
Binary trading software options
There’s a wide range of binary options platforms and software you can use. These replace the need for complex calculations or market analysis because the software does all the sums for you. These calculations combine a number of different indicators to predict whether an asset is going to go up and value. This helps to avoid taking stupid risks with the kids’ college fund or chasing your losses on the wrong assets.
Binary trading software can cost in the $1,000s, so if you’re just getting started and want to keep the overheads of your home based business low then here are two options worth looking at.
Binary Options Trading Signals
Binary Options Trading Signals enables you to join 5,000 other traders who made the leap. They provide access to an award-winning trading room where you can learn from a Master Trader LIVE. With over 15 years of experience in the markets, they’ve learned what works and what doesn’t. Pairing together custom proprietary indicators, strategies and tools, Binary Options Trading Signals can help you gain an edge over the markets.
Night Owl Signals gives you access to a live trading room to experience how winning trades are picked and made. They can help you to turn it all around with our incredible custom coded indicators and technical knowledge accumulated over years of binary options trading experience.
This is a great way of seeing how successful traders operate and can fast track your success towards becoming a more knowledgable trader.
Give yourself some time to understand how the binary market works and learn how to use the software tools as assistants, rather than relying on them to make every decision for you. Then if you are able to trade with patience and a clear head, you may find that options trading can be one of the most profitable ways of earning an income working from home.

In this post I discuss how to launch a roof cleaning business.
To start a roof cleaning business you don’t need to spend much on equipment and the profits can be big. You can, in fact, charge up to $1,500 to clean someone’s roof – a job that takes less than a day to complete.
The potential income you can earn starting a roof cleaning business are potentially huge. But as always, the key to success is doing your research before you start clambering over people’s fragile roof tiles spraying chemicals and rinsing them off with a high-pressure hose.
Why do people need roof cleaning services?
You might question whether many people would want their roof cleaning at all? After all, who ever looks at their roof in between jumping in and out of their car? But there are a number of very good reasons why starting a roof cleaning business is an exceptionally viable proposition:
1) Leaving algae, moss and limestone to spread can cause permanent damage
Rather than just an eyesore, algae, moss and limestone can dramatically reduce the lifespan of a roof by years unless they’re regularly cleaned off. These fungal pests feed on shingles, tiles and on the glue that holds them all together, leading to gradual loss and deterioration that will ultimately lead to the whole roof needing to be replaced. When you consider the average roof costs $15,000, paying out $1500 to have it cleaned makes obvious financial sense.
2) A clean roof can raise the house price
You can spend a fortune on landscaping, cleaning the windows and on the home’s inner furnishings. But the cleanliness of the roof is always going to be one of the first and last things potential buyers will see that will shape their opinion. A clean roof, free from algae, moss and lichen, will raise people’s impressions and valuations of a property.
3) Competing with the Jones’
Nobody wants to be the house on the street with the grotty algae stained roof, when all their neighbours’ roofs are clean and pristine. Clean one roof on the street and you can look forward to a snowball effect as everyone else signs up to avoid being the neighbour letting the street down.
4) Add on services Along with roof cleaning, you could also offer to clean people’s drains and the exterior walls of their house. You won’t need much in the way of extra equipment and you can raise your profits while still being onsite.
Along with roof cleaning, you could also offer to clean people’s drains and the exterior walls of their house. You won’t need much in the way of extra equipment and you can raise your profits while still being onsite.
The best long-term businesses are ethical businesses
It’s worth noting that roof cleaners don’t always have the best of reputations. This is thanks to the cowboy behavior and attitude of some disreputable roof cleaners. Some will say they run a roof cleaning business as an excuse to inspect someone’s roof before informing them that the whole roof needs to be replaced.
This is a service they’ll happily provide for an inflated fee. The fact is that in most cases all that’s needed is thorough cleaning of algae, lichen and moss. And in this hyper-connected world we live in, where reputations can be built and destroyed on the internet, it pays to take an ethical approach that wins you recommendations and praise from customers, rather than a smash and grab attitude of trying to hoodwink people into paying for services they don’t really need to try and make a fast buck.
What equipment will you need to start a roof cleaning business?
One of the great things about starting a roof cleaning business is that your upfront costs are relatively low. All you need is a pressure washer, bleach and detergent and you’re good to go. The trick is ensuring you know the pitfalls of roof cleaning and have a USP that separates you from the competition.
The first step is to avoid the mistake made by many roof cleaning businesses (and home owners) of cleaning their roof with a hose with too much pressure. Roofs are flimsy and fragile and using a hose at a pressure designed for cleaning chewing gum off the pavement (1500 psi or greater) is likely to do more damage than good. Instead, roofs should always be cleaned with a chemical cleaning system and then spray cleaned at a pressure that’s higher than a garden hose but lower than that of a conventional high pressure hose.
Creating a USP when starting a roof cleaning business
John White of Allclean Professional External Cleaning Contractors created a roof cleaning business that was generating $120,000 by its third year, putting his salary way above many of his former classmates with college educations and high powered careers in the corporate world. He was able to generate this income through being able to offer something his competitors didn’t – the ability to clean roofs without a high pressure hose.
White achieved this advantage for his roof cleaning business through his experience in the air conditioning and heating business. He used this knowledge to build his own custom designed pressure hose. What’s more, the rig he designed is able to clean roofs in less time and with half the chemicals of a conventional roof cleaning rig. This means he’s able to earn more money per hour while spending less on supplies, helping him to earn bigger profits than his rivals.
Get a step by step guide on how to build a low pressure roof cleaning machine
You can get a step by step guide on how to build a low pressure roof cleaning rig like White’s on his website. What’s more, you can find out which chemicals you’ll need and where to purchase them. He also explains how to make a ‘Roof Gitter’ for cleaning steep pitched roofs which aren’t safe to walk on and are difficult to clean using conventional methods.
The roof cleaning business is a relatively untapped market where you can charge high fees for a service with exceptionally low running costs and a huge potential market of customers. White’s guide to creating a low pressure cleaning rig for giving your roof cleaning business the edge over the competition is also sold with a two-month money back guarantee. So if you aren’t satisfied with the information, and it doesn’t propel you towards earning a comfortable living cleaning roofs, then you can ask for your money back.

A friend of my cousin keeps on bugging me on how to land a legit work from home job on the internet and being able to work from the comfort of her own home. I taught her the basics of online job hunting and how to sell herself to a number of online job markets. She was excited at first but after a couple of days she lost interest over a few rejections.
When I bumped into her after a few months I asked her how she is. She said she’s still having financial troubles, if only she could have a legit work from home job like mine. “Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. The slogan “press on” has solved and will always solve the problems of the human race.” –Calvin Coolidge

The office environment can be difficult place to navigate for introverts. When you are more inspired and productive in solitude and in quiet environments than dealing with other people all day can be very tiring. It is also more stressful when you have an extrovert boss and/or colleagues, which can make you feel like an outcast on company gatherings and meetings. It’s no wonder so many introverts are attracted to working from home and starting their own home based business that allows them to work to their strengths.
When you’re an introvert it’s easy to assume that you must conform to the extrovert standard in order to be successful. But there are actually a lot of famous celebrities, leaders, and CEOs who claim to be introverts. This includes Steve Wozniak, Bill Gates, Warren Buffet and Marissa Mayer.
So rather than treat introversion as a weakness, or masquerading as an extrovert, it’s better to build on the abilities it provides you with, According to Susan Cain, the author of “Quiet: The Power of Introverts in a World That Can’t Stop Talking”, rather than smothering their true personalities, introverts can learn to embrace their natural strengths and quiet gifts.
Here are easy to follow tips for introverts to shine at work.
Embrace your thoughtful side
Introverts analyze a lot. They prefer to sit in the corner of the conference room and monopolize their thoughts before forming their own opinions. When they are asked to voice out their standpoint they can give a well balance perspective.
Play to your strengths
Most introverts are creative because of their inclination to work in solitude and with a lot of focus, which aids their creative process. Writers and bloggers are mostly introverts and they excel in their crafts in a more secluded environment.
Stay calm and carry on
Introverts are good at hiding their emotions. They are not easily swayed with office chaos, they maintain their composure even when at odds. Their co workers will perceived them as strong and dependable whenever unexpected situations arise.
Honor your need for alone time
Introverts are likely to feel overwhelmed and ultimately burned out if he or she is dealing with constant environmental stimulants and digital distractions. Taking breaks often are one way to maintain their productivity and positive well-being at work.
Build meaningful connections
Most introverts dread attending networking events and would rather stay at home and watch their favorite movie or read a good book. But sometimes we have to get out there and let people know that we exist and we are passionate about what we do. Comparing yourself to your extrovert co worker won’t do any good, so it’s better to focus your attention on making new and meaningful connections.
If you already work from home running a home based business then you are already in the perfect environment for working to your strengths as an introvert. If you’ve yet to make the jump from the corporate world, then consider how you can use these five attributes to your advantage and able to be successful in an extrovert’s world.
When you hear about the latest start-up millionaire or home based business success story, do you question why are others more successful than I am? Did they just get lucky, or were given money by rich parents?
Success in life comes from having goals, defining what success means to you and then working hard to achieve them. It’s particularly important to have some defined goals if you work from home so you can motivate yourself to keep making progress every day, what ever type of home based business you’re pursuing. As Earl Nightingale said “Success is the progression of a worthy ideal”. Whether your goal is to be fit and healthy, achieve financial independence or to have a long and lasting relationship, nothing gets handed to your on a plate.
The truth is there is no secret recipe to being successful. But the right daily habits can go a long way. According to an oft quoted stat – 95% of everything that you think, feel, do and achieve is the result of habit. Successful people have “success habits” and unsuccessful people do not.
Successful people accomplish ten and twenty times as much as average people who have not yet learned these habits and practice them daily. But the good thing about habits is that all habits can be learned. Here are the topmost things that most successful people do every day.
Keep your eye on the prize
Stay focused on your goal and do not get distracted by any unimportant details. A lot of many undesirable things and challenges will come your way, so you should anticipate these things and don’t let them confuse you in any way. Device a plan on how to achieve your goals and devise a fall back plan, if in case plan A doesn’t push through.
Learn How to Say No
Saying “No” means setting your boundaries so you focus on what is important. It can be difficult to say no if you want to be liked and be seen as a team player. But saying yes might be counterproductive and add more things to your plate, reducing your time to pursue opportunities that can advance your home based business.
Keep a Daily Plan of Attack to
Having everything laid out and planned on what you want to achieve each day keeps you away from distractions. It will help you focus more on your goals. This will help you learn to manage your time better to do the really important things when working from home and setting yourself small rewards from getting specific tasks done.
Keep an open mind on any criticisms that you get. Constructive criticism is a good way to assess yourself and evaluate what needs to be done in order to improve your home based business or freelance services. Although negative criticisms can be painful to hear, listening to what people have to say can help you to address your weaknesses and identify where improvements need to be made. Soliciting feedback from friends, family and clients is a good way to measure yourself and whether your ideas stand up to scrutiny.
Trust your instincts
That little voice in your head is your gut feeling talking to you and telling you to follow your instincts. But it doesn’t mean that you have to follow your gut feeling all the time when the advice you’re giving yourself sounds illogical. But when you already have some previous experience and are caught in a similar situation then maybe you should listen to your instincts first. People who over analyze things often end up making bad decisions because they didn’t learn to trust their instincts.
Starting a home based business working from home is always a risk. But most successful people get to where they are from taking calculated risks. Learn to take a plunge on something that’s unfamiliar. If the result is unfavorable for you, simply learn from it and keep moving forward. Remember that great success stories and big dreams are not realized by playing it safe, and the only thing that sat on its way to achieving success was a chicken.
Recent Forrester research found that two thirds of information workers are already remote workers, and it’s a trend that’s only going to grow.
This doesn’t stop many managers getting nervous, though, at the prospect of having staff doing work on the internet from home and away from their watchful gaze. Many think that people will simply spend all time on Facebook or watching TV, rather than actually getting any work done.
But research has already shown that being able to do remote work from home actually increases productivity. In fact, it could be argued that it is the office environment that stifles productivity more.
Here are a few reasons why:
Monday meetings are a tradition in many offices. They are seen as a way of setting goals, sorting out the previous week’s issues and kick starting the week. But people have to drop whatever they are working on and congregate in the same room at the same time. Many will probably have not even bothered starting on an important piece of work, knowing they are going to be interrupted mid-flow. Meetings can then drag on, with everyone forced to sit and listen even if the items being discussed don’t relate to them.
However, when your staff are working remotely then it’s easy to call meetings, as and when they are needed, using video conferencing apps such as Skype or GoToMeeting. You need only include the people who are needed to discuss a certain issue and they don’t have to leave their desks.
More peace and quiet
It’s common for people to either work late or arrival early to work at an office. A key reason is because it’s the only time they get enough peace and quiet to work on something interrupted. Otherwise they have to contend with office chatter, people asking for help and all the other distractions of an office environment.
Staff doing remote work from home, however, can choose to switch off IM or close down their email whenever they want and work uninterrupted for hours at a time. The lack of distractions when working from home is one of the core reasons why people can be more creative, productive and efficient.
Less office gossip
Facebook could be seen as an alternative to a cigarette break. It enables remote workers and internet employees doing work from home to take 5 mins out to catch up with friends on IM, see photos from Saturday night’s party and to engage with the people they care about. It’s then back to work.
In an office, on the other hand, there can be a constant drone of people talking all day. If you were to schedule just one afternoon a week as a ‘no talking’ period you’d be amazed at how much more work gets done. Yes, it’s true that allowing staff to chat (in moderation) is important for rapport, relationship building and a happier workplace, but it can also hammer productivity and is another reason why working remotely enables employees to get more done every day.

In this post I discuss how to start a woodwork business from home and turn your passion into a profitable home based business.
Do you love breaking out the hammer and nails in your spare time? Have you recently been made redundant or are looking for ways to supplement your income? If so, you might be interested in starting a woodworking business from home.
There are many reasons why a woodworking business can be a great home based enterprise:
The startup costs are relatively low
You can start off in your garage or shed, without having to rent a work space
You don’t need to be a professional woodworker to succeed
You can pursue a business you enjoy and have a passion for
You can work from home, enabling you to gain the lifestyle benefits of being your own boss and spend more time with your family
Woodworking business’ can be very profitable once you’ve built a client base and identified a woodworking niche
But before you rush off to grab some wood and nails, there are pitfalls to be aware of before starting a woodworking business from home.
Differentiate your woodwork business on quality, not price
The biggest challenge is going to be finding a way to compete with the major retail stores. They ship in prepacked kitchen cabinets, shelves and other furniture at rock bottom prices from abroad which they then sell as low as possible to entice customers through the door. Simply put, you are not going to compete with the retailers in price at the low end of the market.
This means you have to consider how you can differentiate yourself from the retailers and justify the higher price. Thankfully, there are still plenty of people happy to pay a premium for unique, hand built furniture that’s of a higher standard than that they can buy from large scale retailer. And if you’ve seen the poor quality materials and shoddy craftsmanship of some of these mass produced furniture flat packs, you’ll know that quality is something you can easily compete on.
Another way to differentiate yourself is to offer unique or custom built furniture, which ‘one size fits all’ retailers can’t compete with. You could focus on a specific woodworking niche, such as environmentally friendly wooden toys, built to order bookshelves or custom designed coffee tables. Another option is partnering with local interior designers and supplying them with unique furniture built to spec for each home, or focusing on the lucrative market of antique repair and restoration.
Finding Customers the Traditional and Social Media Powered Way
Another challenge is going to be promoting your business and attracting enough customers. Along with placing ads in the local press and newspapers, there are craft fairs and farmers markets where you can promote and sell your hand built furniture. You could also approach independent furniture shops and ask whether they’d be interested in stocking a few of your items in exchanged for a slice of the profits.
Then there’s the internet. Social media can be a very powerful tool for developing a lot of exposure in your local community fast. Advertising on Facebook can also be a powerful way of reaching tens of thousands of people in your local community relatively cheaply. You can also target your ads at people based on their demographics, such as age range, income and interests, to maximise those viewed by your target market and get the best return on your budget.
If you want to keep marketing costs low while you get started, creating a Facebook fan page and starting a Twitter account is a no brainer. You can promote your products, along with offer tips and advice on woodworking, to grow your exposure and showcase your furniture without spending a cent.
Getting your sums right is one of the keys to success
A common mistake many people make when starting a woodworking business (or any business, for that matter) is jumping in headfirst without a business plan. If you haven’t sat down to calculate the cost of materials, woodworking tools and realistic overheads then you are already setting yourself up for failure.
It’s easy to jump in with a pot of gold and then try to spend your way to success. But you must have a clear view of how your costs are translating into profits. So make sure you’ve put a spreadsheet together with all the costs worked out and how much you will need to sell furniture for in order to push the bean counter in your favour.
Woodworking courses to fast track your business’ push into profit
Working out your profit margins and having a marketing plan ready to roll is all well and good. But your woodworking business is only going to be a success if you have a range of quality custom built wooden products to sell to the market.
Another option could be to buy one of the online woodworking courses that are available. Without the size limits of a printed book, these typically offer far more woodworking designs and projects to choose from. They often provide additional training resources, such as videos, email coaching and guides on pricing, advice on tool selection and technical guidance as well.
Jim Morgan’s Wood Profits Review
Jim Morgan first starting building a woodworking business (literally) in his garage 15 years ago. He’s since since expanded his operations from a garage into a 1400 square foot space and earns an average of $9567.00 per month selling easy to build furniture and crafts. To help others to achieve similar success, Jim put together a guide, Jim Morgan’s Wood Profits, covering everything you need to know about how to start a woodworking business of your own. The more you make, the more you want. Instead, you need deeper rooted motivations if you want to make your work from home venture a long-term success, both financially and spiritually. You also have
Here are a 8 ways of motivating yourself to be successful working from home:
Re-examine yourself and whether you’re making the best use of your time
Have a thorough evaluation of your daily routine working from home on the internet. Do you spend hours working more than anyone else but still earning less than them? If so, maybe it’s time to change your work habits to make better use of your time. Are there tasks you can delegate? Should you focus on more intensive tasks in the morning, and focus on admin in the afternoon? Consider setting up tracking software to see whether you’re wasting too much time on Facebook and not enough on the things that will make you money working from home.
Dont make money your only objective
Whether you have $500 dollars or $5 billion in your bank account, it’s your character and attitude that defines you as a person. The same applies to your business if you work from home. Remember that you have the opportunity to live a much better work/life balance than people wasting hours on the daily commute and consider what this means in terms of personal happiness and satisfaction. This should motivate you to work harder to keep living such a enjoyable work from home lifestyle
Track your profits
Set financial goals you want to achieve and keep it as a high priority. Keep a schedule of activities you have to do every day working from home and choose those activities that have a good potential in generating income. Procrastination is the most common time waster. So maintain your focus and keep fueling your passion by setting financial targets to hit.
Value your time
Even billionaires cannot buy time. Time is irreplaceable and limited, while money can be accumulated forever. Entrepreneurs who have billions of money to splurge make the most of the time they have to spend it. So use your time wisely and treat your time when working from home as more precious than your money.
Don’t be afraid to say “No”
It is our nature as human beings to feel appreciated and loved. It is hard to reject another person’s request for help because of that lingering guilt afterwards. However, setting boundaries and being firm on your standpoint is one of the reasons behind the success of most entrepreneurs. As what have Steve Jobs said, “It’s what Apple said ‘no’ to that ultimately made them successful.”
Create a support network of successful people
As the popular saying goes, “Same of a feather, flock together”. Starting a business where you work from home on the internet takes a special type of mindset, so it’s wise to surround yourself with people who share the same ideals as you or can inspire you to achieve more in life. Learn from them and adopt their attitude and life strategies. The more successful people you can surround yourself with the more likely you will be as successful in the future.
Stop making excuses
Many problems can arise when you work from home, and the nature of the beast is that only you can solve them. Instead of making excuses to validate your actions, if things go wrong focus on finding actual solutions. Making excuses is self defeating as it prevents you from learning how to overcome obstacles. It limits your ability to better yourself and achieve the goal you set for yourself.
Stop having a “victim” mindset and shift to being a leader
Here’s some tough love for you – you are your own person and everything that’s happening in your life is because of your own actions. Blaming your past and other people for any failures in your work from home business is childish. Take charge of your life and take full responsibility for every failures and disappointment as well as for every success when you work from home.
When you work from home, you have only yourself to rely on for the motivation to be successful. No one else is going to make sure you are productive and hit your goals every day. This is why it’s a good idea to adopt success driven ways of thinking, like the 8 positive attitudes listed above.
